Internet Safety for Parents and Kids presented by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Tuskawilla Presbyterian Church.
The SCSO Economic & Computer Crimes Unit, Crimes Against Children Unit, and Crime Prevention Unit will host a computer/internet safety event for parents, grandparents, guardians and kids 3rd grade through high school. The sessions will run simultaneously, with adults in the sanctuary and kids in Fellowship Hall. Child care for infants and toddlers will be available.
Both groups will learn about crime on the internet, electronic communication (email, IM, chat, mobile phones, etc), peer to peer networks, and social networking sites. Children will not be allowed to attend the adult-only event as parental monitoring tactics will also be discussed. No charge; reservations not required. Open to the community.
