The Connection: Dinner and a Play, March 21

On Saturday, March 21, the Connection (for Christian singles 45+) will have dinner at Wolfy’s on the Waterfront followed by Fools, a comedy performed at the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center in Sanford.

 

Meet at the church at 4:30 p.m. to carpool. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m.

Summer Mission Trip to Tennesse

Pastor Chris will lead a mission trip July 11-18 to Westmoreland, TN, a small, proud community of 4,000 people located just 45 minutes north of Nashville. Westmoreland is a rural town where residents take pride in their quality of life, but like so many places in our nation, this is a place that is home to people in real need.

On our trip, we will be helping meet both the physical and spiritual needs of families in this area. There will be many rewarding opportunities to do home repair. Teams could fix a leaky roof, repair broken porches and windows, replace rotting floors, or scrape and paint someone’s home. Beyond the physical labor, you will be a part of God’s work in reaching into the hearts of those you serve with the Good News of Jesus.

The sign-up sheet is on the rolling bulletin board. The basic cost of the trip is $413 + $275 registration fee. We will drive to Tennessee so there will also be the cost of renting a van and an overnight stay. The group is just forming so watch for more information in the bulletins. We need 20 people to make the trip happen. Pastor Chris will hold an information session on March 1 at 12:15 p.m. in the McDonald Conference Room in the church administration building. Bass Player Needed for Contemporary Worship Praise Team

BASS PLAYER NEEDED!

 

The TPC Music Department is in search of an Electric Bass Player to join the Contemporary Worship Praise Team on Sunday mornings for the 9:00AM service.  The ability to read music is a major plus, although an excellent ear, positive attitude and familiarity with Contemporary Christian Music (think Z88.3!) would suffice.  The Praise Team rehearses each week immediately prior to the 9:00AM service and once per month during the week.  If interested in this volunteer position, please email Tom Black at thomasblk72@yahoo.comor call 321-745-0331.

 

40 Days of Purpose Kick-Off Supper and Service Feb. 28

Our 40 Days of purpose Kick-off Event is Saturday, Feb. 28, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Join us for a Lenten supper of soup and bread at 5:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, followed by an exciting worship service in the Sanctuary.

There is no charge for supper and child care will be available.

If you haven't signed up for a small group yet, you'll have an opportunity to do so at this event. You'll also receive your free copy of The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.

Celebrate the Gifts of Women

Celebrate the Gifts of Women on Sunday, March 8.

During both services, the gifts and contributions of women will be recognized, Rev. Stacy Chandler will preach, and the honor of a Presbyterian Women Lifetime Membership will be awarded to a TPC member.

After the 11:00 a.m. service, we will gather in Fellowship Hall for a special luncheon, where we will recognize the artistic talents of TPC women. Join us to see what special creative gifts some of our sisters in Christ have been blessed with.

A delicious meal will be prepared by our own Tom Baccus. The cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children (maximum $30 per family). Childcare will be available. Please make your reservations by March 5 using the sign-up sheets in the breezeway, calling the church office, or using the event sign-up feature on our website at www.mytpc.org.

Surround the Church in Prayer March 1

On the first Sunday in Lent (March 1), we will surround the church in prayer at the start of both services. We will form a human prayer chain around the outside of the sanctuary, holding hands, singing, and praying. Please join us for this moving TPC tradition.

Discovery Class begins Feb. 22

Discovery Class - you were formed for a family. Join us as we discover the meaning of church membership. Classes begin February 22^nd and continue every Sunday through March 22^nd.  They will be conducted during the Sunday School time of 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM in the conference room located in the church office building.
